I was
challenged by Richard to climb every peak in the region over 2000
Meters that was marked as dangerous. He thought I could not do it,
but I am slowly proving him wrong.

Pointe
Nantaux — 2070 M
This is the nearest peak to Chalet Alpazure, in fact the path
starts right by the back garden.
Once
above the tree line, The flora is often over 5 feet high and
can obscure the paths. Care needs to be taken with navigation
(a compass is essential).
A
stunning ariel view of Lac Montriond.
Just
when you think you are at the top, you discover the summit ridge.
Fairly narrow, but not excessively dangerous.
Finally
the summit. 3 hours up, 2.5 hours down.
Les
Haut Forts (2466)
This
is the highest French Mountain in the Portes du Soliel region.
An
arduous 2 hour climb to the Col du Talon. Here we turn right
to reach the summit.
There
is still snow in mid July! It is 35 degrees in the valley, and
very cool up here.
A
view of the summit. However, that last climb is to steep and
slippery for my paws — we will return next year with some
ropes.
Still,
it is a great view. 3.5 Hours to this point, 2.5 hours down.
